Resurrection Sunday/Easter Weekend

So the weekend has officially begun! I am excited and a little overwhelmed at the same time. Tomorrow I am taking Miles to a church's easter egg hunt. They will have a petting zoo, jump castle and of course an egg hunt. I am meeting a friend there who also has kids... Miles LOVES her daughter. Afterwards I am torn between working out (only worked out twice this week, talk about slacking!), going to my parents house so that I can pick get a few decorations for Sunday and let them visit with their grandson OR going home to finish cleaning the very few things that still need cleaning. I am hosting a egg hunt Sunday after church for my kids and 4 others. We'll have bbq and tons of desserts. I'm actually quite excited!

Tonight I need to go finish up some errands before I run out of time but Miles is still napping. He's saying so many words now days, copying everything that comes out of our mouths and even starting to talk in sentences. It's awesome being able to experience and witness all of that! What can I say... I'm a proud momma!
Dana's at her aunt and uncles this weekend but we'll get her back Sunday morning on our way to church. She just turned 7 two weeks ago so she's definitely growing! My how time flies by!

Cowboys & Puppy Dogs

This is the second Wednesday for me ride into Dripping Springs with Vance expecting to work with the kids at church in the evening only to find out that it's not happening.

During the day, while I was waiting for church to "start" I ran a few window shopping errands.

Starting the day off with a stop at Target. The dollar aisle made me wish I had money to spend without any worries. Right now they have tons of educational books, flash cards, etc. and barn yard things which just so happen to be useful for Miles' birthday party. I did buy a pack of stickers for sealing Miles' invitations.

I know it's CRAZY that I have started planning the kids birthdays already. Danas' is in March, Miles' is in June but trust me, with as detail oriented as I am and how much I put into their birthdays, starting early is a good thing. Also, this year both of their themes are difficult to find in stores so a lot of stuff has to be ordered online, the other stuff is improvised.

Next was Story Time at Barnes'N'Noble. It is important for me to get Miles around other kids. He loves other kids but is usually stuck at the house with me as I clean all day. We met up with a friend of mine who I have known since middle school. It was really nice to be able catch up and just hang out.

We ate lunch at McDonalds (I know, so healthy!), ran to Rarty City where I was disappointed in their lack of cowboy and horse stuff and then Ross. The main reason I ran to Ross is to price a large dog bowl for Dana's birthday party only to be disappointed again because they didn't have any. I know, why would I need or even want a dog bowl for my daughters birthday party? Well, she wants a Littlest Pet Shop birthday party and I found the cutest cake idea online. It consists of baking a cake and some instant pudding, layering them and then sprinkling with cookies. It's "Puppy Chow", served in a large dog bowl. The icing on the cake?! Using small dog bowls as their cake plates. These can usually be found at Target for $1 which means I need to keep my eye out.

After all of this errand running, Miles went and played around at McDonalds, we went to go pick Dana up from school then home. We had pizza for dinner (yum!) and now it's bed time. This is the 3rd night in a row that we have fallen asleep before Vance arrived home. He has been working out of town climbing towers lately. I hope that the kids will be able to enjoy their fathers company soon!
